To begin teaching with students on the Teachguin platform, you have two main options: start a lesson immediately without creating materials or create a course with materials for a single lesson and start your first session swiftly.
Starting a Lesson Without Materials
On the home screen, click the “Start Lesson” button to begin an impromptu lesson that is not tied to any specific course or lesson content.
You will enter a classroom where you can invite between one to four students for simultaneous sessions. Since this is a flexible lesson not linked to any course, the materials section will be empty. However, you can still utilize features like video conferencing, whiteboarding, screen sharing, and chat.
More About Conducting a Lesson
Starting a Lesson With Materials
To conduct a lesson using educational materials and to fully leverage the platform's capabilities, return to the home screen by clicking the penguin icon in the upper left corner. Then, press the “Add Course” button.
Follow up by navigating to the course creation screen. Fill in the course title, a brief description, and the target audience. Enter the information correctly to allow the AI assistant to provide optimal support and results.
Next, consult the AI assistant in the bottom right corner and select “Generate Lesson Plan.”
The AI assistant will offer you a preview of the lesson plan. If you are satisfied, apply it by clicking “Apply.” You can also choose to regenerate a different plan by clicking “Regenerate.”
After creating the lesson schedule, select a lesson and enter it by clicking “Edit Materials” or the icons indicating the number of materials in the lesson.
This action will take you to the lesson material editing screen.
To quickly create materials, use the AI assistant. Press on it and choose “Generate Lesson Subtopics.”
Continue applying or regenerating the plan until it meets your needs.
Next, select one of the lesson’s folders in the materials list and consult the AI assistant again. Note how the AI's available functions change depending on the selected element and its status. Press the button “Generate Slides.”
Choose a slide and utilize the AI assistant's features such as “Generate Image” and “Generate Teacher Prompts” as needed.
Once the folder has slides or uploaded files, generate feedback widgets within the folder for student assessments.
By following these steps, you can fill all the folders with content and ultimately prepare comprehensive materials for your lesson on the chosen topic.
Once ready, press the “Start Lesson” button.
And thus, you will arrive at the lesson conduct screen:
Invite students by copying the invitation link with the “Copy Invitation Link” button and conduct the lesson. Place materials on the board by clicking on them. Use feedback widgets and all other lesson features such as video conferencing, whiteboard, chat, information screen, screen broadcasting, etc.
